There may be a use for the blog after all
Given the size of the class, I'm wondering if there is a use for the “blog” after all.
As I understand it, most courses that use blogs use them as “pump-priming” for discussion, or in lieu of essays, or something equally cutting edge.
It struck me that we could use the commenting facility on weekly blog entries (which I would post after class) as a way of carrying on the conversation begun in the seminar itself. Some people might struggle to get a word in edgeways. Some might find it easier to express some thoughts after some reflection, rather than in the heat of the argu..., discussion. And so on.
In fact, you can even chime in below on comments to this entry on your take on this suggestion.
I'm still not sure how comment moderation/anti-spam/etc. stuff works on this system, so there may well be teething troubles. I hope not.

blogs were very useful in other classes, i think the more people who comment on it the better the discussion can develop. should be good.
